Fitting it all in

It seems hard to believe, but I leave Indiana in two days’ time and will be back in Germany by Saturday morning. I know for the Mr. the last month-and-a-half has dragged by as he’s been bogged down with work, a whiny cat and no kitchen sink. But I’ve been so busy visiting friends, enjoying cook-outs and making money selling off my stuff that my time here has just flown by. All good things must come to an end, however, and I have missed the Mr. and Mia….and German baked goods.

The next challenge I face before Friday is figuring out exactly what I’m taking back with me. Clearing out my things in storage has allowed me to get rid of quite a bit, but it also inevitably meant that I rediscovered additional things I want to keep. Sigh…just when I thought I was making progress. I might ship some books. Not during this visit, but perhaps the next. And at the moment, there’s no terrible rush to get it all back to Germany right away (that means you aren’t allowed to sell the house anytime soon, Mom and Dad.) So for right now I just need to prioritize and cram in as much as possible. I’m paying for that second suitcase, after all.

I’m not sure what to say about my time here in Indiana as I’ve had a heck of a lot of fun in a short period of time, and not much free time to blog about it. I’ve attended a wild & crazy bachelorette party, an uber-rad wedding bash, a 10-year reunion, a baby shower, cook-outs and good food gatherings galore, put together a yard sale and watched fireworks explode in the sky. But most importantly, I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with family & friends who make me feel special and loved and missed, and who make spending time with me a priority. I’m so thankful for all of you, and I miss you guys already. Cheers.
